About Kate Robbinson, The DOX Death Doula
Welcome! My name is Kate, and I am a Death Doula and Caregiver in Toronto.
I have been passionate about life's later stages since I was young. As a child, I would visit nursing homes to put on puppet shows, and found myself the happiest when with my grandparents. I loved the calmness that older folks brought, and the stories that they had to tell. I have always been an old soul.
When my grandfather died in 2017, I discovered the beauty of hospice care, and the possibility of dying a good death. Since then, I remain passionate about making the end of life beautiful. And that starts with quality, compassionate care.
I am a hospice volunteer, and hold a Certificate in Palliative Care. I find working with those in life's final phases to be fulfilling and important, and aim to bring the same feeling of contentment into the final chapter of your life.
I am not a medical professional -- but I am a compassion professional. I am an advocate for death with dignity. For encouraging discourse surrounding death and dying. A supporter of making informed decisions, in both our lives and our deaths. I see the beauty in mortality, and encourage you to do the same. Until we are dead, we are very much alive -- and I believe in making every moment count.
